GENOMES & DISEASE

'We investigate the patterns and mechanisms of genomic variation in disease'

I have always been interested in how life works and how our body cells behave at molecular level. That is why I decided to study a Biology degree. During this period, I realized the fascination I felt for the genetics and genomics field, specially related with molecular oncology. There are as many cancer types as cancer patients, so I consider that basic research is essential to achieve patients to benefit from the knowledge of the disease. For this reason, I wish to make my career in the research of tumoral processes and develop my PhD thesis understanding 3D structure of cancer genome and how mobile elements can affect to the development of the disease.
